Julie McElhone is an emerging poet who completed a Master of Creative Writing at the University of Sydney in 2018. She has had poems and short stories published in issues of the Deakin University's creative writing publication, Windmills. Poems being published in 2019 include “Backtracking” in Rabbit Poetry Journal: The TENSE issue, “Screen Grabs” in The Menteur literary and arts magazine from the Paris School of Arts and Culture, “about which i write” & “We Were Here” in Southerly Journal. She was shortlisted for Overland's Judith Wright Poetry Prize 2018. She lives in Sydney with her daughter.
