Thomas Riesner was born in Leipzig in 1971 and still lives there. By elementary school, he was already painting "abstractions" rather than concrete drawings. Later, he retained this style or changed it to "abstract figuration." He painted a lot at home, always without professional guidance. He didn't have any specific role models.
