Based in Seattle, Washington, Allison Ellis started painting and experimenting with mixed media after discovering a trove of art supplies in her ancestral home. A self-described writer by day/ messy art maker at night, Allison begins each piece with an issue plus a random collection of materials, then dances with color, scraps, photographs, and found objects until a new narrative emerges. The goal is to use and repurpose everything she’s inherited. Pacific Northwest waterways, bridges, and natural landscapes also serve as inspiration for much of her art.
