Peter Vukmirovic Stevens
Peter Vukmirovic Stevens is a composer, pianist, visual artist, and producer. Stevens’s works are performed in concerts, festivals and on radio around the world, where he appears regularly as a pianist. His instantly recognizable musical language, often using extended tonality, ranges from classical to experimental. Visual art is an equally important aspect of his output. His artworks and prints are exhibited regularly in the US and Paris, as well as in print, including Studio Visit Magazine. His visual artworks are (mostly) created using electrical tape, paint, and ink. Stevens is a recipient of a 2020 and 2021 ASCAP Plus Award for music composition. He is a recipient of 2019 awards from Migros Cultural Percentage, City of Berne, Canton Berne, and Canton Solothurn in Switzerland for his album Bile Noire for piano and prepared turntables with Strotter Inst. An upcoming album for piano and voice, S LENCE, with Penny Rimbaud (Crass) will be released in early 2022 on One Little Independent in London. Stevens is currently an artist-in-residence at the Centre des Récollets in Paris
