Erik Carrigan
Described as moody and psychedelic, Erik Carrigan’s current body of work is abstract painting with a focus on combining spiraling mark-making using earthy and organic palettes of watercolor on paper. Creating pockets of color that buckle from puddles of water, the work is treated as a surface. The brush strokes are fluid, allowing the medium to be manipulated as it's pushed, spread, and absorbed. Erik will receive his MFA in studio art in Spring 2023 from the University at Albany and received his BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2021.
